About Emma Stubbs - Founder of Parallel Lines Education
Who is Parallel Lines Education?
Hi, I'm Emma Stubbs. I'm a plain speaking Yorkshire lass, living in Bradford with my husband, daughter and cat.
I've always been highly self-motivated and strive to be the best at whatever I do. As a little girl, I would sit for hours perfecting my Paint By Numbers artwork, and would demand more difficult long division questions from my grandad on an hourly basis. I loved doing things right, and I loved doing them well.
Fast forward to now, and I still have that same drive and passion, but now it's not just for me, but for others too.
My story
I knew I wanted to teach from a young age, and have worked in maths education from the start of my career.
I fell in love with tutoring (both privately and in schools) straight away - building relationships and being a cheerleader for young people and their families will always be a privilege.
Over time, it became clear I could really connect with neurodivergent young people, and those with SEND. All learners should be able to access the power and beauty of maths!
Whilst teaching, I could never find the perfect resource or bespoke programme, so would often create my own and publish them online. This led to exciting contracts with some big name companies. Since 2018, my love of clear, elegant maths combined with a keen eye for detail has found its place in content creation and editorial work, and consultancy for educational projects.
